Dysport is a prescription-only medicine that contains the active substance Clostridium botulinum type A toxin-haemagglutinin complex indicated for severe primary hyperhidrosis of the axillae, which does not respond to topical treatment with antiperspirants or antihidrotics. However, it is not licensed in the UK for aesthetic use, and as such the prescriber takes full responsibility for prescribing the medicine and for overseeing the patient’s care, monitoring, and any follow-up treatment. Key Features:

• Can be used in the treatment of severe primary hyperhidrosis of the axillae, which does not respond to topical treatment with antiperspirants or antihidrotics
• It relaxes and limits the movement of muscles around the injection site as per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins.

Contraindications of Dysport:

• Known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
• Generalized disorders of muscle activity (e.g. myasthenia gravis, Lambert- Eaton syndrome) (as per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins).
• Infection or inflammation at the proposed injection site (As per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins).
